It’s true, our bodies are not machines. They are made up of millions of little switches, levers, and moving parts, and just like those, they are not always reliable or predictable. I am a huge proponent of self-awareness, and I use the term “automation” to describe things like the digital tools we use at our fingertips, which are not necessarily tools, but rather things that allow us to do things.
Now I know this is a controversial subject, but automating yourself is a good thing. You’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish with the right tools and techniques. We at Machinima are just getting started on this, and we have some pretty big plans in mind.

We are planning on creating software that can automate everything from your social media profile, to your recipes, to your grocery shopping. Our plan is to have that software turn on by default, and turn it off only when you explicitly say that you don’t want it.
Right now, we are working on the most basic automation, but we are making it much easier to add more and more features and customize it as you see fit. We want you to be able to completely automate your life. We want you to be able to take on all of the tasks that you need to do while you are asleep.
We aren’t looking to eliminate our own tasks, but to get you to do more and more of the things that you need to do while you are asleep. We want you to be able to do more and more of the things that you need to do while you are asleep. So it makes sense that the feature we are testing is going to be an automatic alarm clock.
I’ve spent some time talking to other people involved in the project, both with the game and the engineering team, about how we’re making automations. We’re making them both more than just a single feature in the game, but also a whole ecosystem of game-related features that work together to make our life easier. We want to test all of these features together and see how well they work together.
We first implemented it in the game, so we have a ton of game-specific automation that relies on our engine, most notably our AI. But we’re also testing it for other game companies, like Valve, who are using a similar technology to implement some of their automations.
When I say automation, there’s not really any hard and fast rules that can be used to define what an automation is, but it’s all kinds of different. Some of the more interesting implementations we’ve seen are the ones that make our lives more convenient or easier.
The most interesting and potentially most useful automation we’ve seen is machina (or, as we like to call it, ‘automatic machina’). It’s basically a tool that automates a variety of tasks so that you don’t have to think, “where should I go to do this?”, or “what should I do next?” and instead just type out a sequence of commands.
machina automation comes in the form of robots that can do whatever we ask them to. One of the most common things that a machina does is to open doors, a lot of doors, which makes me feel like I should probably be a robot.
